A model commercial vehicle is a die cast toy or a scale model representing a commercial vehicle like bus, truck etc. model commercial vehicle for truck is known as diecast truck. Model commercial vehicles are also sold as pre built or pre- painted collectible models and also as kits for the devotee to paint and construct same as model cars. Collectables are mainly made using plastic and die cast metal whereas model kits are made in resin, metal like white metal, plastic and wood. Among the most common used alloy is Zamac which is a combination of aluminum and zinc that is Z.A.M.A.C (zinc and aluminum) metal alloy castings. This may also be referred as mazak or zamak.

For the commercial vehicles, most famous die cast scales are 1:50 and 1:43 scales, which are coming from their starting role in 0 scale railway layouts. But now, 0 scale is not that much popular for trains. In the recent years, 1:50 scale and 1:43 scale have become more popular for die cast commercial vehicles. Other popular scales include 1:64 scale, 1/87 scale and 1:37 scale. 1:64 scale is similar to the S scale American flyer train and 1/87 scale is similar to H0 scale trains.
